CAPITAL CAMPAIGN TO PURCHASE AND RENOVATE THE FEDERAL BUILDING Mission: To purchase the Federal Building, 823 Marin Street, Vallejo, CA or other building for Vallejo Music Theatre’s use as a performing arts venue. Goals: To raise sufficient funds to purchase the Federal Building or other building, for renovation and installation of two theaters a scene shop, properties room, costume shop and offices as well as make available spaces for rent to other groups and organizations in the community. Objectives: To develop a Capital Campaign program which will raise the funds required to complete the mission and objectives. Establish committees for each project area. Phase I: Raising funds to purchase the building a. Set timeline for raising funds for Phase I b. Develop forms to convey donations and pledges. c. Develop lists of potential donors. d. Develop community awareness and support for the project. e. Set up schedule to meet with potential donors along with members of Cap. Cam. Committee. f. Set up and retain files of donors. g. Keep accurate records of donations. h. Prepare letters of acknowledgement of donations as needed. i. Collect donations from individuals, businesses, foundations, organizations and governments. j. Establish fund management process. k. Develop concepts and materials for presentation purposes. l. Develop long range plan for building maintenance and ongoing costs. Phase II: Raising funds to renovate and install theaters. a. Set timeline for raising funds for Phase I b. Develop forms to convey donations and pledges. c. Develop lists of potential donors. d. Develop community awareness and support for the project. e. Set up schedule to meet with potential donors along with members of Cap. Cam. Committee. f. Set up and retain files of donors. g. Keep accurate records of donations. h. Prepare letters of acknowledgement of donations as needed. i. Collect donations from individuals, businesses, foundations, organizations and governments. j. Establish fund management process. k. Send Requests for Proposals for Architects, Engineers, Contractors and/or Builders. l. Hire the above professions as required. m. Develop architectural and engineering plans for City of Vallejo Planning and Building Departments for the required permits. n. Closely supervise the renovation and installation of theaters, offices, etc. Phase III: Raise funds to run the performing arts venue once completed. a. Develop an Endowment Fund to operate and maintain the building. b. Plan and execute fundraising events throughout the year to supplant the Endowment Fund. | |
